SATURDAY EVENING...
The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a Beach
Hazards Statement, which is in effect from 6 AM EDT Saturday
through Saturday evening. A High Rip Current Risk has also been
issued. This High Rip Current Risk is in effect from 6 AM EDT
Saturday through Saturday evening.
* LOCATIONS...Coastal Horry and Coastal Georgetown.
* TIMING...From 6 AM EDT Saturday through Saturday evening.
* SURF ZONE IMPACTS...Very strong rip currents will be dangerous
to anyone who enters the surf. Also, a strong longshore will
develop at South Carolina beaches tomorrow afternoon as winds
and surf increase ahead of Post-Tropical Cyclone Nestor.

Information:
A Beach Hazards Statement is issued when threats such as rip
currents, longshore currents, and other hazards create life-
threatening conditions in the surf zone. Caution should be used
when in or near the water.
If you become caught in a rip current, yell for help. Remain
calm, do not exhaust yourself and stay afloat while waiting for
help. If you have to swim out of a rip current, swim parallel to
shore and back toward the beach when possible. Do not attempt to
swim directly against a rip current as you will tire quickly.
